Why We Enjoy Music

Some time ago I read “On Intelligence” by Jeff Hawkins. In this book he presents his hypothesis that the human intelligence is based mainly on prediction, to put it in a nutshell. Building on this I developed an explanation approach for the question why we enjoy music.

Pi as Music

Some weeks ago I had the idea to write a program which uses the decimal places of Pi to generate music. You would get an endless music which never repeats. This would be in some kind random, but also completely dertemined. However, someone has already done a program like this and also added a nice graphical interface: PI10K on avoision.com

The Wall

Saturday evening I attended the concert “The Wall – in its entirety” by The Australian Pink Floyd Show (or just Aussiefloyd) in the AWD-Hall in Hannover. About a year ago I already wrote about The Australien Pink Floyd Show. This band is a Pink Floyd tribute band, which wants to play the music of Pink Floyd as near to the original as possible. The Wall may not be the favorite album of each Pink Floyd fan, but live its absolutly awesome!

Before I go on with further details I want to warn you that I may spoil one or two surprises.
